1. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
ButterBean delivers orders using Aramex Couriers and other delivery arrangements only where ButterBean considers this reasonably necessary.
By placing an order with ButterBean, the customer agrees to the terms of this Shipping and Delivery Policy.
2. DELIVERY TIMEFRAMES
The estimated delivery timeframe for ButterBean products is 8 to 11 business days.
This timeframe is an estimate only and is not a guaranteed delivery date.
Business days exclude:
- Saturdays;
- Sundays;
- South African public holidays; and
- any other day on which normal courier operations are not conducted.
The estimated delivery period may commence after ButterBean has:
- received and confirmed payment; and
- processed the customer's order.
Where additional information is required from the customer before an order can be processed or dispatched, the delivery timeframe may be extended.
3. DELIVERY DELAYS
Although ButterBean will make reasonable efforts to ensure that orders are processed and dispatched appropriately, delivery dates and timeframes are estimates only.
ButterBean will not be liable for delays in delivery caused by circumstances beyond ButterBean's reasonable control, including, but not limited to:
- delays by Aramex or other third-party courier services;
- courier operational delays;
- increased courier volumes;
- weather conditions;
- road closures;
- accidents;
- strikes or labour disruptions;
- civil disturbances;
- power outages;
- system failures;
- incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the customer;
- delays caused by the customer's unavailability;
- delays in accessing a delivery address;
- remote or outlying delivery locations;
- public holidays;
- force majeure events; or
- any other event reasonably beyond ButterBean's control.
ButterBean will not be responsible for losses, damages or expenses arising solely from a delay in delivery to the extent permitted by applicable South African law.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable South African law.
4. COURIER SERVICES
ButterBean uses Aramex Couriers to deliver orders.
Once an order has been handed to the courier, the delivery process is subject to the courier's operational procedures and delivery routes.
ButterBean may provide customers with tracking information where such information is available.
While ButterBean will reasonably assist customers with delivery queries, ButterBean cannot guarantee that a courier will deliver an order on a specific date or at a specific time.
5. ORDER PROCESSING
Orders will be processed after payment has been successfully received and confirmed.
Processing times may vary depending on:
- order volumes;
- product availability;
- weekends and public holidays;
- payment verification; and
- other operational requirements.
The estimated delivery timeframe of 8 to 11 business days should not be interpreted as a guaranteed timeframe where delays occur outside ButterBean's reasonable control.
6. DELIVERY ADDRESS
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.
The customer must ensure that the following information is correct:
- recipient name;
- street address;
- suburb;
- city or town;
- postal code;
- contact telephone number; and
- any other information reasonably necessary to complete delivery.
ButterBean will not be responsible for delays or additional delivery costs resulting from an incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible address supplied by the customer.
If an order has already been dispatched, ButterBean may not be able to change the delivery address.
Any additional costs resulting from an address change requested after dispatch may be payable by the customer, to the extent permitted by law.
7. CUSTOMER AVAILABILITY
Customers are responsible for ensuring that a suitable person is available to accept delivery at the delivery address.
Where delivery cannot be completed because:
- nobody is available to receive the order;
- the customer cannot be contacted;
- access to the property is unavailable;
- security personnel refuse access; or
- the courier is unable to complete delivery for reasons attributable to the customer,
the delivery may be delayed, rescheduled or returned in accordance with the courier's procedures.
Additional delivery or return costs may be charged to the customer where permitted by applicable law.
8. TRACKING YOUR ORDER
Where tracking information is available, ButterBean may provide the customer with tracking details once the order has been dispatched.
Tracking information is provided for the customer's convenience.
Tracking updates are generated by the courier, and ButterBean cannot guarantee the accuracy, timing or frequency of updates provided by a third-party courier system.
9. REMOTE AND OUTLYING AREAS
Delivery to remote, rural or outlying areas may take longer than the estimated 8 to 11 business days.
Certain locations may also be subject to additional courier restrictions or delivery arrangements.
Where possible, ButterBean will communicate any known significant delivery limitations to the customer.
10. DELIVERY DELAYS CAUSED BY THE CUSTOMER
ButterBean will not be responsible for delivery delays caused by:
- incorrect delivery details;
- an incorrect contact number;
- failure to respond to courier communications;
- failure to collect an order where collection is required;
- refusal to accept delivery without a lawful reason; or
- any other act or omission by the customer that prevents or delays delivery.
Where an order is returned to ButterBean due to circumstances attributable to the customer, ButterBean may require the customer to pay reasonable additional shipping costs before the order is resent.
11. LOST OR MISSING PARCELS
If a customer believes that an order has been lost or has not been delivered within a reasonable period, the customer should contact ButterBean as soon as possible.
ButterBean will reasonably assist in investigating the matter with the courier.
An investigation may take time and may depend on information and processes provided by Aramex or another relevant delivery service.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that may apply under South African law.
12. DELIVERY CONFIRMATION AND ACCEPTANCE
Customers are encouraged to inspect the outer packaging of their order upon delivery.
If there is visible damage to the packaging, customers are encouraged to:
- take photographs where reasonably possible;
- report the damage to the courier at the time of delivery where possible; and
- notify ButterBean as soon as reasonably possible.
Failure to report visible damage immediately does not automatically remove any consumer rights that may apply under South African law.
13. DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS
If an item is delivered damaged, defective or incorrectly supplied, customers should contact ButterBean as soon as reasonably possible.
Such matters will be handled in accordance with ButterBean's Returns, Refunds and Exchanges Policy and applicable South African law.
14. DELIVERY FEES
Delivery fees, where applicable, will be displayed or communicated to the customer before the order is finalised.
ButterBean reserves the right to change delivery fees for future orders.
Any delivery fee applicable to a completed order will generally be the fee disclosed to the customer at the time of placing that order, unless otherwise permitted by applicable law.
15. FORCE MAJEURE
ButterBean will not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations where the delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond ButterBean's reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include natural disasters, severe weather, fire, flooding, strikes, civil unrest, war, government action, widespread power or telecommunications failures, pandemics, transport disruptions or other events beyond ButterBean's reasonable control.
Nothing in this clause excludes any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable South African law.
16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable South African law, ButterBean will not be liable for indirect, consequential or incidental losses arising from a delay in delivery where the delay is caused by circumstances beyond ButterBean's reasonable control.
ButterBean does not guarantee delivery on a specific date or at a specific time unless ButterBean expressly agrees to this in writing.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any consumer rights or ButterBean's liability where such rights or liability cannot legally be excluded or limited under South African law.
